Hey all, I know it has been a while, there are a couple of reasons. First reason is because there was this awesome storm including lightning and thunder that took out the internet. The Thursday night the internet was fixed, but I had to pack for the Dehli trip as we left at 3:00 am for the airport.
The trip to Dehli was amazing! I really enjoyed seeing Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and the Lotus Temple. Here are a few pictures at the Taj Mahal! It was amazing!!!!

Arriving at Rising Star Outreach

Today I made it to the Rising Star Outreach campus. It was a long journey to get here, but I have made it! It was amazing to see all the people of India on this day, India's Independence Day. Many celebrations took place, a flag raising at the hotel occurred, however I did not attend due to an early wake-up call at 3:00 where my body said wake up and it did. I was not able to get to sleep for about another hour! Anyway, I ended up not being ready to go in time. . . but life goes on.
. There was an amazing rain storm that came and left quite quickly, but don't worry, there was pictures taken. I was able to meet a few of the kids, they are just so much fun. I can tell that they are very special kids.

Sunday

Today I had a lot of fun. I got about 2 hours of sleep on a lovely bed! (It was amazing to lie on a bed again.) We then went to church, I have a picture of Derek and I outside the church but I couldn't find it. . . Then we went out to see Channai. There was a group of 6 of us so we got 2 rigshaws to take us around the city to look at different temples. This picture show Derek, myself, and Amy sitting in one of the rigshaws.
Below I am at in the National Shrine of St. Thomas Basilica. It has amazing beauty inside and outside. It will attempt to put up other pictures, it all depends on if the computer will cooperate with my intension!

Chennai

I just got to Chennai, safe and sound! It was about 20-21 hours of flying with two 4 hour layovers. I was very fortunate for the last 9 hour flight in that it wasn't full so I moved back a row of 3 seats and got to lie down and sleep much better. I am so amazed at how it feels to loose 4 hours each day. When we landed in London it was into the night and we landed in Chennai at 3:30 am so we lost more hours in the day. It is weird to think that it is already Sunday!

So, here are a few pictures of the airports. These are from the Dallas Fort Worth Airport. I got to ride on a tram. . . does that count as my train??? Anyway, in the picture with me is my friend Amy that came with me.

Preparing for India

Hello all who are interested and have the desire to follow my whereabouts. I am now preparing for India. . . it will be my first time in India. I am excited but nervous all at the same time. All sorts of crazy things are running through my mind like. . . will the food agree with me, will I agree with it, will I offend someone not meaning to, or will I get lost and never find my way back. Well, luck for me (unfortunate for them), I am making a friend go with me. . . AND in case she deserts me, I have back-up in India, my brother. He has been there for the summer volunteering with the organization that we are going over with. (The organization is the Rising Star Outreach.) He will be following me home a few days after I leave India. (He has to stay behind to clean up my messes!)

So. . . here goes nothing! We are going to fly into Chennai. Needless to say, over the next few weeks, I will do a lot of traveling whether in planes, trains, automobiles, bicycle, shoes. . . it will be a lot. Okay, I really don't know about the trains, but that would be awesome so I could make that statement correct. . . so, onto what everyone really wants to see. . . pictures.

This is a picture of my brother Derek that is in India now. He took this picture of us a few years ago. I will add newer pictures later.
